Eve O’Neill Named Outstanding Under 16 Schoolgirl Cricketer
Hampshire and Vipers Academy spinner Eve O’Neill has been named as the Outstanding Under 16 Schoolgirl Cricketer award by The Cricket Society
Hampshire batter Joe Weatherley and spinner Mason Crane, who is currently on loan at Glamorgan for the season, have both been signed for The Hundred as Vitality Wildcard picks after impressive performances in the Vitality Blast.
Weatherley will be returning to Utilita Bowl based Southern Brave where he spent the last two campaigns, making four appearances. From seven Vitality Blast matches for Hampshire Hawks in 2024, the 27-year-old has impressed with the bat, scoring 240 runs at an average of 48.
Meanwhile, Crane has spent the season on loan at Glamorgan and has 12 wickets so far, coming at an average of 14.16. He has represented London Spirit on 16 occasions in The Hundred from 2021 to 2023 and now makes the move to Sophia Gardens.
Scott Currie, who is also on loan from Hampshire to Leicestershire, has been designated as a replacement player for Manchester Originals.
The Hundred this year begins on Tuesday 23rd July at The Kia Oval, with the first game at Utilita Bowl on Wednesday 24th July.
