Hampshire Men return Rothesay County Championship action against Durham at Utilita Bowl over May Bank Holiday weekend
With this year's Vitality Blast campaign just around the corner - and to mark the 20th edition of the competition being staged this summer - we've taken a trip down memory lane, looking back at some of the most memorable performances from the past 19 seasons. Next up is Neil McKenzie's match winning 79 not out to send Hampshire to finals day in 2012
2012 was one of Hampshire's best years as a club, which is well documented.
The Hampshire Royals did the white ball double, winning both the FriendsLife T20 and Clydesdale Bank 40 over competitions.
Much like 2021, Trent Bridge was the scene for Hampshire's T20 quarter final.
Bowling first, Hampshire went into the interval the underdogs. Nottinghamshire set the visitors 179 to advance to finals day.
Hampshire got off to a fast start, but lost four wickets inside 10 overs.
McKenzie was cool under pressure, scoring 79 from only 49 balls, striking at over 160. His innings containing nine boundaries as well as clearing the rope on two occassions.
The South African's innings was filled with typically classy strokes, not brute force which is normally expected in the format.
A delicate drive through the off side for four sealed victory for Hampshire from the final ball, emphasising the poise and class shown from the Hampshire legend.
