20 Years Of T20: Wood's Last Over Heroics

Hampshire's white ball specialist held his nerve to crown Hampshire in 2012

With this year's Vitality Blast campaign just around the corner - and to mark the 20th edition of the competition being staged this summer - we've taken a trip down memory lane, looking back at some of the most memorable performances from the past 19 seasons. Next up is Chris Wood's three wickets to hand Hampshire the title in 2012.

2012 was a record breaking year for Hampshire.

The Hampshire Royals did the white ball double, winning both the FriendsLife T20 and Clydesdale Bank 40 over competitions.

Sophia Gardens played host for T20 Finals Day and it was a special day for the south coast county, defeating Somerset by six wickets in the semi-final before facing off against Yorkshire in the final.

Batting first, valuable contributions from Jimmy Adams, James Vince and Simon Katich helped push Hampshire to 150/6 from their allocation.

In reply, Yorkshire needed to score 14 runs from the final over, bowled by Chris Wood, to secure vicotry but Wood held his nerve and dismissed Tim Bresnan, Rich Pyrah and Azeem Rafiq to hand Hampshire their second title in three years.
