England Lions Name Squad For 50-Over Series, With Three Hampshire Men Included
Three Hampshire players have been named in the England Lions squad for a three-match 50-over series against South Africa A, beginning tomorrow.
Scott Currie, Eddie Jack and Ben Mayes have been named in a 16-player England Lions squad for the upcoming three-match 50-over series against South Africa A.
The series gets underway tomorrow at Uptonsteel Grace Road in Leicester, before moving to New Road in Worcester for the final two fixtures on Sunday 7 June and Tuesday 9 June.
Eddie Jack and Ben Mayes both featured in the recently concluded four-day series and continue their Lions involvement into the 50-over format, with Scott Currie also included in the squad.
They are joined by Rehan Ahmed and James Rew, who link up from the England Men's Test squad. Ahmed is set to play in front of his home supporters in the series opener at Grace Road in Leicester. Scott Currie is set to join the Lions squad after featuring for Hampshire Hawks in their Vitality Blast T20 fixture against Surrey at The Oval on Friday evening.
