Hampshire Cricket Foundation Donates £10k To South Downs Equine Therapy Centre

The centre, based in Clanfield, was looking for a new therapy horse to support their clients’ needs

Monday 12 August 2024

Hampshire Cricket Foundation has donated ten-thousand-pounds to South Downs Equine Therapy Centre.

Based in Clanfield, South Downs Equine Therapy Centre uses therapeutic riding and equine facilitated learning to support a wide range of individuals, including children in care, as well as disabled children, non-school attenders, and autistic children. They also have a dementia group who visit monthly.

Hampshire Cricket Foundation’s donation allowed the therapy centre to source the new horse, who was named Gloria, in order to provide the much-needed support to their clients.

For a long time we were looking for a big horse to enable our taller riders to be able to ride and we were really lucky to be able to find Gloria.
Hannah Hurst from South Downs Equine Therapy Centre

Gloria is a fantastic addition to our herd and we wouldn’t have been able to source her without the support from the Hampshire Cricket Foundation.
Valerie Lockett from South Downs Equine Therapy Centre
