Hampshire Women 18s have won the national U18s T20 competition and will head to the 50-over final against Yorkshire on Sunday
Hampshire Women U18s completed an emphatic chase of 222 to lift the national U18s T20 title on Sunday 13th September.
The team defeated Lancashire in the semi-final as they defended 164 before sealing victory against Nottinghamshire in the final with two balls to spare.
Hampshire dominated the group stage, winning ten out of their 12 matches, with two ten-wicket wins over second-placed Berkshire and Glamorgan standing out.
We are really proud of this group of players to beat two really strong teams on Finals day alongside having a strong group stage leading into Finals Day. They have worked so hard to get to this point and put in a lot of training hours over the winter. The future is bright for Hampshire Cricket.

At Finals Day, which took place at Neston CC in Cheshire, they posted 164 against Lancashire, with Freya Watkinson top-scoring with 32.
Louise Bucknell’s two for 16 from four overs helped keep the runs down, as the Red Rose were kept to 153 from their 20 overs.
Nottinghamshire then posted a commanding 222 for one in the final, as captain Ellie Phillips made 143 from 61 balls.
In response, Poppy White and Freya Watkinson put on 81 for the first wicket before a partnership worth 80 between White and Darcey Clarke put Hampshire in the driving seat.
But with four overs to go, the team still required another 48 to win.
Iris Eshelby came in and blasted 33 from 14 balls, whilst Clarke made an unbeaten 70 off 39 as they got Hampshire over the line with two balls left in the game.
The magnitude of the day, the sheer excellence of the opposition, and the truly outstanding manner of the win, puts this team achievement up there with any female cricketing performance across the domestic game, since the inception of the ECB’s ‘Transforming Women & Girls Cricket’ initiative in 2020.

Hampshire U18s are also through to the national 50-over final, which takes place at Attenborough CC on Sunday 20th September where they take on Yorkshire.
They finished second in their group, behind Berkshire, after winning five of their eight matches.
En route to the final, they beat Somerset by four wickets, Berkshire by 39 runs, and Kent by five wickets in the semi-final at Hook & Newnham CC.
Hampshire host Surrey in the eliminator of the women’s Metro Bank One Day Cup at Utilita Bowl, with the winner going on to take on The Blaze in the final on Saturday 19th September
