Match Preview: Somerset v Hampshire Women, Metro Bank One Day Cup
Hampshire Women travel to Taunton to face Somerset after going top of the table having won their previous fixture
Following Friday’s el clasicoast washout against Sussex Sharks, Hampshire continue their 2019 Vitality Blast campaign at the The Ageas Bowl on Sunday as James Vince’s side face Kent Spitfires.
Hampshire Squad:
An unchanged 14-man squad has been named for Sunday’s clash with South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris set to make his belated debut for the Club. Aneurin Donald and James Fuller will also make their first T20 appearances for Hampshire on Sunday if included in the final XI.
The Opposition:
After securing a quarter-final place for the first time since 2015 in last year’s Vitality Blast, Kent Spitfires head to the The Ageas Bowl looking to add to their win tally against Hampshire following last year’s double over James Vince’s squad.
The Spitfires had a much more positive campaign last season, finishing second in the South Group missing out on top-spot by the smallest of margins as they ended the group-stage level on points with Somerset.
Joe Denly and Daniel Bell-Drummond are the backbone to a strong top-order whilst Denly is also a crucial component to the visitors’ bowling attack, alongside Mitch Claydon and Fred Klaasen.
