Ian Holland Extends Stay At Hampshire

The Hampshire all-rounder has signed a contract extension at The Ageas Bowl until the end of 2023

Hampshire Cricket are pleased to announce that Ian Holland has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the Club until the end of 2023.

The all-rounder arrived at The Ageas Bowl in 2016, before making his First XI debut against Kent in the Royal London One-Day Cup the following April.

Since then, Holland has made 76 appearances for the Club across all three formats and recently made his 50th First-Class appearance in a Hampshire shirt.

Holland has been a vital cog in the County Championship team during the past few seasons as an opening batter, while also contributing with the ball. He scored a total of 766 runs in last year’s competition – at an average of 33.30 with two centuries and four 50s – and was second only to James Vince in runs scored.

In 2022, the American has taken six wickets in as many games, while continuing to open the batting.

The 31-year-old has also experienced international cricket – so far making a total of 14 appearances in ODIs and IT20s for his native USA.

Ian is a really important part of the squad.

He brings energy, enthusiasm and commitment, and always puts the team’s needs ahead of his own.

He’ an important player for us on and off the pitch – a real role model – and we are delighted he’s staying.

Giles White, Hampshire Director of Cricket

I’m very happy to extend my stay at The Ageas Bowl.

I’ve loved every minute of my time here at Hampshire and am excited for what the future holds.

We’ve got a great group of players and look forward to pushing on across all fronts this summer.
