Hampshire Men recorded a much-needed win against Essex on Friday, and will face Durham in their next fixture at Utilita Bowl.
Ashutosh Sharma claimed his maiden professional five-for as his 5/51 helped restrict Essex to 317 all out, having been 216/3 after 33 overs.
Nick Gubbins reached his second fifty in as many innings, whilst Tom Prest continued his good form in the competition with another half-century before some power hitting from James Fuller and Andrew Neal steered the Rose and Crown to victory with 14 balls to spare.
Durham were defeated for the first time in the competition in their last match against Yorkshire in front of a sold-out crowd at Clifton Park in York.
The recently retired Ben Stokes made an unbeaten century in his first game and followed it up with 73* in his second, but was dismissed for a golden duck by Glamorgan’s Dan Douthwaite in the third.
Will Rhodes made a career-best 148* in the same match to steer Durham to victory, and top scored with 31 against Yorkshire on Friday, but the visitors fell to 165 all out.
All-rounder Stokes claimed 1/29 from his ten overs, but unbeaten fifties from James Wharton and Sam Whiteman saw Yorkshire cruise to victory by seven wickets.
Other international talent on show on Sunday includes Hampshire stalwart Kyle Abbott and Delhi Capitals all-rounder Ashutosh Sharma, whilst Durham boast current England opener Emilio Gay along with ex-England batter Alex Lees and wicket keeper Ollie Robinson.

Hampshire have named a 15-player squad for their men’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup match against Durham.
The squad is unchanged from Friday’s victory over Essex.
Following a strong start to the competition, with one century and two fifties, Tom Prest is only 43 runs away from 1,500 career List A runs.

Why they can win the competition: Durham haven’t hit the heights in limited-overs cricket in recent seasons, the Vitality T20 Blast included, but they’re in such a good position at the top of Division Two in the Rothesay County Championship and can give this competition the full monty.
Player to watch: Former England Test captain Ben Stokes is available for this competition having retired from international cricket last month. All-rounder Stokes, a star of the 2019 50-over World Cup triumph, will be an invaluable learning tool for Durham’s up-and-comers.
Young gun: Possibly the time for left-arm quick James Minto to break through in senior cricket. Limited first-team exposure since debuting aged 16 in 2024 but has just enjoyed a productive five-wicket return for England U19s in an ODI series win against South Africa.
Final thought: South African batter David Bedingham is registered as an overseas but is unlikely to feature. His compatriot fast bowler Duanne Olivier will fill that role. Emilio Gay is available prior to the start of next month’s Rothesay Test series against Pakistan.
