Hampshire’s Pre-Season Calendar Confirmed
Hampshire’s men and women will be going on tour in March with trips to Stellenbosch and Desert Springs, and five warm up matches
Hampshire will take to the field for their first contest of 2021 tomorrow as red-ball action returns to The Ageas Bowl for the first time since September 2019. Northamptonshire are the opponents for a two-day friendly fixture as pre-season preparations continue in the build up to next month’s LV= County Championship curtain-raiser.
Hampshire Squad:
A 14-man squad has been named for this week’s fixture, starting on Thursday.
Captain James Vince will lead a side that includes seamer Kyle Abbott, who has safely arrived at The Ageas Bowl for the 2021 season and is available to make his first appearance since 2019, after missing last summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All-rounder Liam Dawson is also in line to make his return to action having recovered from a right achilles injury suffered in last year’s Bob Willis Trophy campaign. Mason Crane, who has spent much of the winter as a travelling reserve with England, is also available to feature.
