Match Preview: Hampshire v Yorkshire - Royal London One-Day Cup Semi-Final

A 14-man squad has been named for Monday's crucial 50-over semi-final fixture

Hampshire are just one win away from securing a place in the Royal London One-Day Cup Final as Yorkshire visit the The Ageas Bowl for the competition’s semi-final stages on Monday.

James Vince’s side finished top of the South Group to secure a home draw in the final four and a win would ensure a place in the Lord’s Final for the first time since 2012.

Hampshire Squad:

Hampshire batsman Sam Northeast is set to make his return from injury in Monday’s crucial contest with the top-order batsman recovering from a fractured finger suffered last month.

The right-hander rounds off a strong top-order, one which includes Rilee Rossouw and skipper James Vince who have both struck centuries during this year’s campaign. All-rounder Liam Dawson bolsters both the batting line-up and bowling attack as he returns from injury and will be available for selection on Monday.

Mason Crane is unavailable after suffering soreness in his back, whilst Brad Taylor, who suffered an ankle injury earlier this week, is also unavailable. Tom Alsop continues his recovery from a minor hamstring injury,  and is expected to return in Wednesday's day/night four-day fixture.

The Opposition:

Yorkshire have enjoyed an excellent 2018 One-Day Cup campaign, with victory in their final North Group game guaranteeing them a third-place finish in the group-stage.

A positive performance in their knockout play-off match against Essex Eagles at Chelmsford last week, which saw them recover from 5-2 batting first, helped them secure victory and with it a semi-final tie against Hampshire at the The Ageas Bowl.

Steven Patterson’s side will be without England quintet, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, David Willey, Adil Rashid and Liam Plunkett once again on Monday.
