Hampshire v Middlesex, Vitality Blast, 20th September 2020
On this day in 2020, Shaheen Shah Afridi did the unthinkable when he took four wickets in four balls to help Hampshire to a Vitality Blast victory over Middlesex at The Ageas Bowl.
The Pakistan fast bowler started slowly at Hampshire but saved his best performance for last.
With Middlesex needing 21 from three overs, Afridi first dismissed the in-batter John Simpson for 48 with a classic inswinging yorker, shattering the stumps.
Steven Finn, Thilan Walallawita, and finally Tim Murtagh all befell the same fate, with Afridi destroying all their stumps on the way to figures of 6-19.
Lauren Bell and Linsey Smith will feature in the 2026 Women’s Premier League which runs from 9th January to 5th February
Few players have stamped their personality on the Ashes like Kevin Pietersen, whose fearless approach reshaped modern Test batting
