Hampshire faced Essex Eagles on this day - 30th May - in 2014's NatWest T20 Blast after a decent start to their South Group campaign, a loss to Glamorgan first-off had been followed by back-to-back wins leading into the clash with the Chelmsford side.
James Vince won the toss and put the Eagles in. The visitors, with Ben Foakes top-scoring with 43, posted 145-5 from their 20 overs, with Danny Briggs taking 2-23 from his four overs. Kyle Abbott was also economical, with figures of 1-18 from his four and also dismissing the the free-scoring Foakes.

In reply, Hampshire made the worst possible start, as Carberry was bowled by Salisbury with no runs scored, but Adams made a quick 32 before Vince (57*) and Owais Shah (50*) shared an unbeaten partnership of 103* to see Hampshire to an eight wicket win with 16 balls to spare.
2014's NatWest T20 Blast saw Hampshire progress to their fifth straight T20 Finals Day, before succumbing to Lancashire Lightning in the semi-final.
