Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy Rewind: Windsor Continues Run Spree Against Diamonds

Emily Windsor narrowly missed out on a half-century but helped anchor the Vipers’ innings against Northern Diamonds

With the 2022 season now firmly in the rear-view mirror, we're taking a look back at some of the performances that caught the eye throughout Southern Vipers' Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy campaign.

Coming in at number six, Emily Windsor already had 196 runs to her name in four matches for the Vipers, and the team required her once again to help see the team to a strong total.

Windsor was off the mark second ball as she utilised her favourite cut shot to a short ball by experienced leg spinner Katie Levick, which duly raced to the boundary.

However, the Portsmouth-born batter had to wait a while for her next four, but precisely 10 overs after her first, Windsor found the rope for a second time with a sublime cover drive off Emma Marlow.

With wickets falling at the other end, Windsor continued on, determined to get the Vipers up past 200.

Five wides brought up the double ton for the Vipers, and off the final ball of the innings, Windsor came down the wicket to Hollie Armitage, and slapped the ball back past her for four to finish, cruelly, one run shy of what would’ve been her third fifty of the season.
