Veteran Glamorgan pace bowler Michael Hogan was picked up by Southern Brave in the Vitality Blast wildcard draft.
Hogan, aged 41, is playing his last season of professional cricket after he announced he would retire at the end of the 2022 season in December last year.
I’m really excited about joining up with Southern Brave for this year’s Hundred, and I’m pleased that I have the chance to test my skills against some of the best players in world cricket. From the outside, the Hundred looked like a hugely exciting and dynamic tournament last year, and I can’t wait to be a part of it this year!

The Australian took 20 wickets, 5th most in the competition, in 11 Vitality Blast matches this year at under 17 apiece, with an economy rate of 8.12, and has taken 125 T20 wickets in his illustrious career to date.
Today is a really exciting moment as we confirm the squads for the second year of The Hundred. It’s great to see players like Richard Gleeson and George Scrimshaw being rewarded for impressive performances in the Vitality Blast, while we’ve got some exciting youngsters joining the women’s competition with the likes of Davina Perrin and Mahika Gaur being signed up. Everyone is welcome at The Hundred and we can’t wait to excite fans with world-class cricket and blockbuster entertainment in just under one month’s time.
Sanjay Patel, Managing Director of The Hundred
Hampshire all-rounder James Fuller will also join Southern Brave as a replacement for Quinton de Kock who is unavailable for the opening match on 3rd August against Welsh Fire due to international commitments.
Fuller, who has taken 16 wickets and scored 265 runs in this year’s Vitality Blast, will also remain with the Brave if New Zealander Finn Allen is called up to their IT20 squad ahead of their series against West Indies.
It’s great to see both the men’s and women’s squads now fully confirmed, and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in with the Brave later next month. The amount of talent on show is just incredible, with some of the best players from all over the world competing on the same field as players who are looking to make a name for themselves. It’s going to make for a highly exciting competition!
