Economical Bell Helps RCB Set The Tone In The WPL
Hampshire’s Lauren Bell delivered impactful spells to help RCB start the tournament with back-to-back wins
18-year-old Tom Prest was cool, calm and collected under pressure in the Vitality Blast Quarter-Final at Trent Bridge.
Batting at number three, Prest witnessed a collapse that left Hampshire in desperate need for the young man to step up.
Step up he did as the Dorset born youngster scored 44, leading his side to a total of 125 which proved to be enough for victory.

Prest looked in control from just his second ball, coolly guiding South African Dane Peterson down to the third man boundary for four.
Facing ex-Hampshire man Calvin Harrison, Prest rocked back and pulled a short ball to the mid-wicket boundary for his second of three fours.
The right-handed batter’s next boundary would again come off Harrison, advancing down the wicket to drive a full ball through the covers.

James Fuller provided ample support, as the pair put together a crucial 49-run partnership, with Fuller contributing 30 of those runs.
Prest’s final boundary would arguably be his most impressive, stepping back and across in the crease and dispatching a half volley from Patterson over the ropes for six.
Although not the flashiest or most brutal innings for the Hawks last year, Prest’s innings is up there with the most valuable – helping Hampshire secure a place at Finals Day for the first time since 2017.
