Vince, Lyon & Sixers Prepare For BBL Final

Hampshire captain James Vince will feature for Sydney Sixers in Saturday's Big Bash League Final against Melbourne Stars

Hampshire captain James Vince will contest the Big Bash League Final on Saturday as his Sydney Sixers, which also include overseas signing Nathan Lyon, look to secure their second T20 title.

Vince has had a busy winter down under, consistently contributing with the bat for Moises Henriques side, and after finishing second in the league stage, the Sixers secured their place in the competition final with victory over Melbourne Stars last week.

The Stars, led by former Hampshire batsman Glenn Maxwell, will be Vince's opponents once again on Saturday after they sealed their Final place with victory in the play-off on Thursday.

The right-hander has featured prominently in a side that won nine out of their first 14 matches, with his best performance coming against Brisbane Heat where he crunched 51 off 37 balls alongside Josh Philippe.

Vince also received a deserved player of the match award for his quick-fire 41 (26) against Melbourne Renegades at the start of the tournament.

Ealier this winter, Vince’s Msanzi Super League side, Paarl Rocks, were crowned champions of the South African tournament for the first time in their history.

Vince and the Sixers now face the Melbourne Stars once again in the final of the competition on Saturday 8th January at the Sydney Cricket Ground with the Hampshire batsman looking to secure his second T20 title of the off-season.

The Hampshire man is currrently the Sixers second highest run-scorer so far with 321 runs at an average of 24.69 and one fifty to his name.
