The Southern Vipers can announce that Amanda-Jade Wellington will replace Australian teammate Sophie Molineux in this year’s Kia Super League.
Molineux has been forced to withdraw from the squad after suffering an injury with Wellington, an exciting leg-spinner who features for Adelaide Strikers in the WBBL, arriving in her place for the start of the 2019 campaign.
She joins West Indian superstar Stafanie Taylor who also lines-up for the The Ageas Bowl-based side as overseas player for the first time in the competition.
We’re all disappointed that Sophie has had to withdraw from the KSL but we’re very lucky to get a replacement of Amanda’s quality. She’s a hugely talented leg-spinner and will offer something different to our squad this summer.

After the success of last year’s expanded Kia Super League, all six teams, including the The Ageas Bowl-based Southern Vipers, will once again play each other home and away in 2019.
The Southern Vipers will get this summer’s campaign underway at Liverpool as they take on Lancashire Thunder on Tuesday 6th August before another away fixture against Loughborough Lightning on Thursday 8th August.
The opening home match of the competition will see Western Storm visit the The Ageas Bowl on Sunday 11th August followed by a trip to the Kia Oval to face reigning 2018 Champions Surrey Stars just 24 hours later.
Hove and Arundel will then host two home matches against Lancashire Thunder (Thursday 15th August) and Surrey Stars (Sunday 18th August), before away fixtures against Western Storm at Bristol (Tuesday 20th August) and Yorkshire Diamonds (Sunday 25th August).
The final two home contests at the The Ageas Bowl will see Beaumont’s side welcome Yorkshire Diamonds (Wednesday 21st August) and Loughborough Lightning (Wednesday 28th August) to finish the group-stage. This year's KSL Finals Day will then again be hosted by Sussex at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove on Sunday 1st September.
