Mary Louise Latham Taylor, twin sister of Warwickshire player Millie, was born on 7th October 2004 and is a right-arm medium pace bowler.
Young Taylor made an impression in her first senior game for the Vipers whilst she was still in the Academy set up, with her 2-22 on debut in the Eliminator of the 2022 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy helping the Vipers to an easy six-wicket victory which saw the team head into their third consecutive RHFT Final.
In the 2022 Academy Festival, Taylor showed her all-round abilities as she scored 129 runs - more than anyone else in the squad - and took one wicket in four overs of bowling, and later in the year, she scored 80 against Northern Diamonds Academy followed by 110 in the Vipers 2nd XI.
In April 2023, Taylor was included in the full playing squad for the first time, and was handed a second senior appearance for the Vipers against Sunrisers at Utilita Bowl.
She went on to feature 17 times for the club across the 2023 season, with six caps in the CEC and 11 in the RHFT where she spearheaded the Vipers’ pace attack in the absence of Lauren Bell.
Wickets became a regular occurrence for the now-19-year-old, and she took career-best figures of 4-39 against Thunder at Arundel Castle in a 64-run bonus point victory, before taking 3-15 against The Blaze at Loughborough which saw the team rise from 5th to top of the table and straight through to a fourth consecutive RHFT final.
She was also signed by Charlotte Edwards’ Southern Brave side where she took her opportunity instantly in front of the TV cameras at Trent Bridge.
She took 3-18 from her 20 balls, the best figures of anyone in the match, and claimed the scalps of Lizelle Lee, Naomi Dattani, and Jo Gardner.
She ended her first full season for the Vipers with 16 wickets and 42 runs to her name, along with three trophies lifted across the year, with her reward being a first professional contact in November 2023.
She was called up to England Women’s U19 tri series against Sri Lanka and Australia, alongside Vipers teammates Abi Norgrove and Ava Lee, where she took four wickets, and was retained by Southern Brave for the 2024 edition of The Hundred.
82 from 47 balls and bowling figures of 1-27 from 4 overs led the Southern Vipers Academy to a dominant 8 wicket win over the Western Storm Academy in May of 2024.
She would eclipse this in August against the West Indies Under-19s, with an unbeaten 103 from 64 balls leading the Vipers Academy to 215-3 from 20 overs, and a 110-run victory.
Despite the Vipers coming up short, a destructive opening spell against The Blaze in the Charlotte Edwards Cup saw her take 2-12 from four overs, claiming the big wickets of Tammy Beaumont (10) and Sarah Bryce (0) along the way.
Picking up the important wickets of Marie Kelly (33) and Heather Graham (78) helped the Vipers to a narrow four wicket win over The Blaze in the RHFT, finishing with 3-32 from 6.2 overs.
Taylor played 18 times for the Vipers across 2024, taking 13 wickets and adding 39 runs in seven innings with the bat from the lower order.
