England are on their quest to regain the Ashes for the first time since 2013-14 when Charlotte Edwards’ side won the series for just the third time in Australia.
In the summer of 2023, England drew the multiformat series eight points apiece, and inflicted series wins in the IT20 and ODI legs, but defeat in the Test match at Trent Bridge gave the visitors a strong start.
This time around, the Test match will be the final shootout for the two teams, as the series kicks off with three ODIs followed by three IT20s.
Hampshire’s Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Freya Kemp, and Linsey Smith will all be involved, as Bell and Bouchier have been named in the squad for the ODIs and Test match, whilst Kemp and Smith are included in the IT20 squad for their first Ashes call-ups.
England played a 50-over warm-up match against a Governor-General’s XI, featuring Alyssa Healy, Heather Graham, and Georgia Wareham, on Thursday 9th January which was abandoned after 28 overs.
The ODI series begins on 11th January at North Sydney Oval, with matches on 13th January at the Junction Oval and 16th January in Hobart.
The three-match IT20 leg of the Ashes will take place on 20th, 23rd, and 25th January before the four-day Test match – a pink ball day/night game – takes place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from 30th January-2nd February.

The Women’s Ashes operates on a multiformat points-based system.
For each of the white ball matches (ODIs and IT20s) the winning team will receive two points, whilst any tie, abandonment, or no result will lead to both teams receiving one point.
The Test match is worth four points for the winner, whilst a draw will see the teams share the spoils with two points each.
The maximum number of points available is 16, meaning to win the Ashes, England must score nine or more points.
If the series is drawn with both teams level on points, Australia will retain the Ashes as they currently hold the trophy.
