Maia Emily Bouchier was born in Kensington, London on 5th December 1998 and is a right-handed batter who bowls right arm medium.

She played for Middlesex from 2014 before switching allegiances to Hampshire in 2019, although she joined the Vipers a year before in 2018. She also represents Southern Brave in The Hundred.

Bouchier registered her maiden half-century for the Vipers against Western Storm in 2020, and has gone from strength to strength.

A strong 2021 season with the bat, where she scored one shy of 300 runs at an average of 37, earned her a maiden international call-up, and she made her England debut in an IT20 against New Zealand, and was added to England’s ODI squad against the same opposition.

She then flew over to Australia where she featured for Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League, an received an Ashes call soon after.

Bouchier stayed on in Oz where she made a career-best score of 79 whilst playing for Western Australia against Queensland in the Women's National Cricket League.

A stellar 2022 Charlotte Edwards Cup campaign, where Bouchier scored 176 runs at an average of 29, saw her called up to England's IT20 squad for matches against South Africa, and for the Commonwealth Games.

She played in all five of England's matches in the Games, where she scored 30 runs with a best of 21*, and she hit the winnings runs as England kicked off their tournament with a win against Sri Lanka.

An ODI call up against India followed, but she was released to play in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, where she scored 51 in the eliminator against South East Stars, and 48 in the final against Northern Diamonds.

In 2023, Bouchier had her most prolific year with the bat for the Vipers, scoring 518 runs with five half-centuries, as the team completed the historic double, winning both the Charlotte Edwards Cup and Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

At CEC Finals Day at Worcester, an event which spanned across two days thanks to rain, Bouchier smashed 56 and 25 against Thunder and The Blaze respectively, and started the season with back-to-back fifties against Sunrisers and South East Stars.

Her Vipers best of 71 would come against Western Storm at Millfield School, before she starred with the bat on the international stage, scoring a best of 95 against Sri Lanka in just her second innings in ODI cricket.

She was rewarded with a first ECB central contract off the back of her strong international summer, and set about setting records on England’s winter tour of New Zealand in 2024.

Bouchier scored 223 runs in five innings, with 71 followed by a career-best T20 score of 91 in back-to-back IT20s in Nelson and Wellington.

In 2024, Bouchier became just the third Viper to surpass 1500 runs for the club, reaching the milestone after 61 innings.
