Global cricketing giants return to Utilita Bowl in 2025
Hampshire will be looking for consecutive red-ball wins when Somerset visit the The Ageas Bowl for a Specsavers County Championship match, beginning on Monday 10th September.
Hampshire Squad
Hampshire have named an unchanged 13-man squad for the four-day contest as they look to build on last week's win against Worcestershire at New Road.
Rilee Rossouw remains unavailable after travelling back to South Africa for the birth of his second child, while batsman Oliver Soames is included again, along with new signing Aneurin Donald.
The Opposition:
Somerset currently occupy second position in Division One of the Specsavers County Championship, with six wins from their 11 matches.
Tom Abell's side's previous Championship match ended in a thrilling tie, with Lancashire taking all ten Somerset second-innings wickets for just 77 runs, after Somerset has been set a total of 78 to win at Taunton.
The ever-present Abell has been in impressive form with the bat so far this season, averaging over 44 while spinner Jack Leach picked up a staggering 12 wickets in the tied match against Lancashire.
Somerset will be looking to bounce-back from the disappointment of the tie at Taunton, knowing a win will help tighten their grip on second place while keeping the pressure on the unbeaten league leaders, Surrey.
