NatWest T20 Blast Comes to Portsmouth

Ryan McLaren and Mason Crane launch NatWest T20 Blast at Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club

Hampshire Cricket stars Ryan McLaren and Mason Crane visited Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club to launch the NatWest T20 Blast season. Almost 200 people descended on the St James’ Hospital ground to take part in a variety of T20 Skill Challenges, from six hitting to high catching.

It’s fantastic to see so many young cricketers enjoying the game and getting excited about the NatWest T20 Blast season. We can’t wait to get the games underway and are looking forward to seeing everyone at the The Ageas Bowl to watch us in action this summer.

The event culminated in an autograph session giving young cricketers the chance to chat to the stars one-to-one and have their photos taken.

The Hampshire Cricket NatWest T20 Blast Roadshows are organised by Hampshire Cricket in the Community in association with local cricket clubs. The Portsmouth event is the first of three taking place over the week with further Roadshows taking place on the evenings of Tuesday 17th May, at Wyvern College in Fair Oak, and Friday 20th May, at Overton Recreation Ground. More information on upcoming events can be found at www.ageasbowl.com/community

We’re really grateful to everyone at Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club for making us feel so welcome. Cricket is thriving in Portsmouth and it’s great to be here with Mason and Ryan giving these young players the opportunity to test their T20 skills.
