Hampshire Power into D40 Final with Dominant Win Over Essex
Hampshire D40 secured a place in the ECB Disability Premier League Final with a 153-run win over Essex, thanks to Sam Godfrey’s unbeaten century and Alex McAdam’s five-wicket haul.

Throughout the summer term, schools across the county took part in local Dynamos festivals, run by School Games Organisers and Community Coaches, leading to the County Finals at the Utilita Bowl. On Tuesday 24th June, 15 girls’ teams competed, with Weeke Primary School crowned champions. The following day, 18 teams took part in the open event, where Merdon Junior School came out on top. Both days showcased impressive cricket, enthusiasm, and great sportsmanship.
It was a special evening at Utilita Bowl on Monday 17th June, as we welcomed some of Hampshire’s finest amateur cricketers onto the pitch during the interval of the T20 Blast Surrey Double Header.
These individuals were celebrated as part of the #HantsTopGun campaign – a county-wide initiative that recognises outstanding weekly performances in club cricket. Running from May to August, the campaign highlights the male and female players with the highest batting scores and best bowling figures from the ECB Hampshire Honours Boards.
Hampshire Cricket Board is thrilled to announce the nominees for our second Volunteer of the Month for 2025, showcasing the incredible contributions made by individuals who help strengthen and support cricket in our community. This month’s selection is a testament to the outstanding dedication of our volunteers across the county.
The Level 4 Sports Coach Apprenticeship will assist with coaching and community engagement across all HCB’s programmes and projects. The role is aimed at a coach who would like to broaden their knowledge across a variety of delivery areas but will specialise in School Sport Coaching. The apprenticeship will focus on the acceleration of sustainable mastery of children’s psychomotor skills and wider physical education standards.
Over 100 young cricketers from across Hampshire took part in the Hampshire Tri-Series Cricket Festival last week at Wellington Sports Ground, in a celebration of talent, opportunity, and the wider cricket community.
