Hampshire Cricket Board is delighted to launch the 2026 Girls’ Skills Development Programme, a non-selective initiative aimed at U11 and U13 girls who want to build confidence, develop their cricketing skills, and make the exciting transition from softball to hardball cricket.

This month’s selection is a testament to the outstanding dedication of our volunteers across the county.

Role Vacancy: Level 4 Sports Coach Apprenticeship

The Level 4 Sports Coach Apprenticeship will assist with coaching and community engagement across all HCB’s programmes and projects. The role is aimed at a coach who would like to broaden their knowledge across a variety of delivery areas but will specialise in School Sport Coaching. The apprenticeship will focus on the acceleration of sustainable mastery of children’s psychomotor skills and wider physical education standards.

Hampshire Tri-Series Cricket Festival

Over 100 young cricketers from across Hampshire took part in the Hampshire Tri-Series Cricket Festival last week at Wellington Sports Ground, in a celebration of talent, opportunity, and the wider cricket community. 

Hampshire Crowned Champions in Historic Inaugural T10 Disability Cup

Hampshire Cricket were crowned champions of the inaugural T10 Disability Cup, showcasing their continued commitment to disability cricket. Held at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove on Sunday 18 May, the tournament featured teams from Hampshire, Essex, Sussex, and Surrey. Hampshire’s D40 side defeated Sussex in the semi-final, with standout performances from Greg McKenzie and captain Ben Williams. In the final against Surrey, Hampshire posted 70/7 before securing a narrow five-run victory, thanks to excellent bowling from Freddie Leamon. The team celebrated their triumph on the pitch, marking a proud moment for the club in the evolving disability game.

ECB Gender Eligibility Regulations

Following the recent Supreme Court judgement, the ECB have updated their gender eligibility regulations, with immediate effect.
