Waterlooville Cricket Club have been crowned ECB Indoor National Club Champions after a remarkable Finals Day performance at the Home of Cricket, Lord’s.
Having first qualified as Hampshire’s county winners, Waterlooville continued their impressive run by progressing through the regional stages to book their place at the national Finals Day. What followed was a memorable day that will go down in the club’s history.
In the semi-final, Waterlooville faced a strong AK XI Cricket Club side and delivered an excellent all-round performance to secure a convincing six wicket victory, booking their place in the final.
The final saw them take on Whitstable Cricket Club in a closely contested match. Showing great composure under pressure, Waterlooville held their nerve to claim a thrilling three wicket win and secure the national title.
To be crowned ECB Indoor National Club Champions at Lord’s represents a truly outstanding achievement and is a testament to the hard work, dedication and talent within the club.
