Nigel Hill - Finance Director

Nigel is a lifelong cricket fan, having grown up in earshot of the passionate West Indian fans on the terraces at the Oval as Michael Holding and his colleagues wreaked havoc on England’s batting line up.

Never much of a player, Nigel has been a watcher, umpire and now scorer, and worked on the Accreditation Team for the World Cup and the Champions Trophy.

Nigel passionately believes that recreational cricket is an important force for good in building and strengthening rural and urban communities and that cricket should be accessible to everybody.

Professionally, Nigel is a governance and trusteeship specialist, acting for pension funds and other commercial trusts. He is a former Council Member of the Association of Professional Pension Trustees, and a Director of two trustee companies. He is taking an active interest in HCB aiming to achieve and maintain the ECBs Gold Governance Standard, as well as his non-exec Finance Director role, as we aim to diversify our income streams and ensure that our finances are on a sustainable basis in a challenging environment.

Nigel was appointed for his first 3-year term in July 2024. He sits on the Finance Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration Committee.
