Coaching Opportunities

Do you have a spare hour or two a week to get involved in cricket in your local community?

We are recruiting casual coaches across a range of our programmes to support the work we do in the local community.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to lead or assist on a variety of programmes across the county. With competitive rates of pay and the opportunity to change the lives of young people, why not get in touch today...

"Being a casual coach with Hampshire and working with the Super 1s players is a privilege. You see them develop and grow, you watch friendships flourish and for some, achieve far more than they ever thought they could. Each week is a highlight for me to meet and train this amazing group of young individuals."

Programmes you can get involved in:

  • Street/Wicketz - Our urban programmes bring cricket to hundreds of young people who traditionally face barriers to getting active. In Southampton you could join our Wicketz programme supported by Lords Taverners. In Portsmouth and Basingstoke we work in partnership with Chance to Shine and local community groups to deliver sessions in the heart of the urban communities.
  • Super 1s - The Lord's Taverners Super 1s programme gives young people aged 12-25 with disabilities the chance to play cricket regularly at community hubs across the county. The programme offers free year round coaching across our six hubs in Basingstoke, New Forest, Fareham, Southampton, Andover and Winchester/Chandlers Ford.
  • Schools - Our schools programme aims to embed cricket across the curriculum in both primary and secondary schools. Our partnerships with Chance to Shine and the ECB allows us to provide free or heavily subsidised programmes in schools, all of which are delivered by appropriately qualified coaches. With a year round offer we engage with 100s of schools a year across the county.

"Wicketz has been an absolutely fantastic venture alongside my studies at university. The opportunity to coach and participate in cricket as well as meet a variety of great people from all backgrounds, all whilst providing for myself financially. The exposure to new communities is something I have grown to be so grateful for, having such interesting conversations and interactions I never expected to have."
