Hampshire Cricket Board Hosts Successful Walking Cricket Festival
The second annual festival welcomed teams from across Hampshire, showcasing the growing popularity of Walking Cricket in Hampshire.
Hampshire Cricket Board welcomed Walking Cricket players from across the county on Wednesday 16th July for its second annual outdoor Walking Cricket Festival, celebrating the continued growth of the programme and bringing participants together for a day of inclusive, enjoyable cricket.
The festival featured teams from Fleet, Eastleigh, Gosport, New Milton and Grayshott, with the latter hub being new to the game and being run by the club themselves. Players from across Hampshire enjoyed the opportunity to connect, compete and share their passion for the game.
Teams took part in a round-robin tournament, with the focus firmly on participation, teamwork and enjoyment. The event highlighted the social benefits of Walking Cricket, giving players the chance to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces and stay active in a supportive environment.
Designed to be accessible to all ages, abilities and experience levels, Walking Cricket offers a fun, low-impact way to improve physical and mental wellbeing while building community connections. The growing number of hubs across Hampshire reflects the increasing popularity of the format.
